The Nicholson's Niche

It’s amazing to me that it’s been over 3 months since I began this little journal, and have yet to update!  Life has been a bit suffocating in the Nicholson household.

Something we haven’t discussed much is the lawsuit we’ve been dealing with since early 2010.  Well, trial was last month, and ended on April 3.  It has been a very difficult 2+ years, dealing with the possibility of the unknown, and what the fate of this lawsuit meant for our family and our future.

We can all breathe a huge sigh of relief, as Ryan’s suit is now over.  We won on all counts!  What could have been damages of $6+million, have ended in nothing but attorney’s fees (while by no means insignificant, something we can deal with).  Ryan and I feel incredibly blessed to close this chapter in our lives, and to move forward with the promising future our family faces!

Thank you for being such a support system to us, even when we didn’t talk about all the trouble we were facing.  At the end of the day, no matter how far we could have fallen, we knew we had y’all right there if we needed you.  Here’s to the future, as it is so bright!!

Feb 5 brought quite the celebration for Hoyt!

We were so fortunate to have all of our family and closest friends come to celebrate our little man’s big day!  Ryan and I spent too much time blowing-up 300+ balloons and hanging all sorts of party fun.  Hoyt LOVED all of the balloons, (which we enjoyed for more than a week…so worth the effort!!) and having all of his friends and family to play with.

If his first year was any indication of his life to come, Ryan and I better stay well rested and get ready for quite the ride.  We are blown away that our little man’s first year has come and gone!
