My sweet baby boy,

I can’t believe a year has passed since you blessed our lives and made us a family.  We have learned and loved so much in this past year, and you make each day a blessing.  Looking back, it’s hard to imagine a day without you, as you truly make me who I am today.  I was born to be your mother, and you give me the most unbelievable joy.  Watching you grow and having the privilege of being your mother is such a gift.

Exploring the outdoors - 10 months

I am most excited to see you become the spirited young man you are proving yourself to be, even at this very young age.  Hoyt, you have so much spirit in your tiny little body, you can accomplish absolutely anything in this life and your father and I are right here, helping to keep you on your very bright path.  You follow in the footsteps of great men, and it will be such fun to see you mature and grow.

In awe of everything around him - 12 months

Your personality is as striking as your brilliant blue eyes.  You have such a fire in your little soul.  At times, you are overcome with such joy (usually at the sight of Harley running into the room, as she is your very best friend) that your entire body squeals with excitement, you giggle all the way to your toes.  You are so bright, at times your intelligence is alarming.  I will show you something rather complex, almost more to hide something from you at the time, and without skipping a beat, you seek it out and overcome whatever obstacle I’ve put in your way.  Tenacious should be your middle name, as you will attempt anything!  Your curiosity is infectious, and I hope you never lose the desire to know EVERYTHING around you.  You are more of a boy than I could have ever imagined, as you plow through furniture, run headfirst down stairs, and attempt to mess in anything you find.  If you’re not sleeping, all your engines are firing, GO GO GO!  It’s been hard to find a minute to sit in the past 3 months you’ve been running, and it is such fun.

Christmas Excitement - 11.5 months

You are the light in my eyes, and you make me thankful each day for this life; for the ability to watch you and know you and to hopefully allow you any opportunity that comes your way.

Gearing up for golf with Dad - 5 months

Hoyt, you have changed our lives in the most amazing way.  I’d give anything to watch your father play with you, as his face lights up with love.  I can already see y’all getting into all sorts of shenanigans, spending too much time on the golf course together,  and being the very best of friends.

You are so loved, and you have the most brilliant future.  Thank you for being our son, as this is the most amazing journey!  Happy Birthday my sweet sweet son, looking forward to each new day with you!
